Email and text marketing

From $395

Email and text marketing set up on your own domain: the sending platform authenticated so mail lands, your list cleaned and loaded, a signup form, a template in your brand, and your first send scheduled with you. Email is ready within 7 days of access.

  1. Most of my customers come once and disappear
  2. We have 2,000 emails in a spreadsheet and never send anything
  3. I don't know if I'm allowed to text these people

Your list should send from your own name

Your past customers already know you, which makes them the easiest people to bring back. A salon client due for a cut, last year's wedding couples at a venue, a property manager's owners. That list usually sits in a POS, a booking tool or a spreadsheet, and nothing goes out. Or it goes out from a free Gmail address and lands in spam.

Gmail and Yahoo now expect bulk senders to authenticate their domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC and to offer one-click unsubscribe. Skip that and your newsletter quietly goes to spam. Texting has its own gate: US carriers require 10DLC registration for business texts from a regular number, and unregistered messages get filtered or blocked. Set it up right once and every send after has a fair shot. We set it up for businesses across Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater, and the list stays yours whichever way you run it.

What we do

  • Set up a sending platform on your domain that holds your customer list
  • Authenticate it on your domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC records
  • Set up email forwarding so replies reach the inbox you actually check
  • Import and tag your existing list, keeping only contacts you have a reason to email
  • Add a signup form to your site that feeds the list directly
  • Build one reusable email template in your logo, colors and fonts
  • Begin carrier registration (10DLC) if you plan to text, since approval has lead time
  • Show you how to build, schedule and send a campaign yourself

Have these handy

  • Your customer list export from your POS, booking tool, CRM or a spreadsheet
  • Login to your domain's DNS settings, usually at your registrar or host
  • Your logo, brand colors and an email you've sent customers before
  • Your business legal name and EIN if you plan to text, since carriers ask for them
  • The sending platform you already use, if any
  1. Tell us where your list lives

Pay by link, then tell us where your list lives today, which platform you use or want, and which domain you send from. If you plan to text, we file the carrier registration on day one.

  2. Domain and platform

We set up the account in your name, add the DNS records that authenticate your domain, and set up forwarding so replies land with you.

  3. List and signup form

We clean and import your list, tag it by customer type, and connect a signup form on your site. A test signup confirms it lands.

  4. Template and test send

We build your branded template and send tests to Gmail, Outlook and iPhone mail to check layout and links before anything real goes out. Email is ready within 7 days of access; texting goes live once the carriers approve it, which can take a few weeks.

  5. Your first send, scheduled with you

We walk you through your first send. You're left with a platform in your name, your list loaded, a template and the logins. If anything we set up stops working within 14 days, we fix it free. If you'd rather we write and send it every month, Covered, running Chosen, $395/mo, sends 2 emails a month to past customers. Texts too on Handled, $1,450/mo.

Questions owners ask.

How do I keep my email newsletter out of spam?

Start with authentication. Your sending platform needs SPF, DKIM and DMARC records on your domain so Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook can confirm the mail really comes from you. Then send from your own domain, not a free Gmail address, include a working unsubscribe link, and only mail people who asked to hear from you. We set up the records and check them before your first send.

What is 10DLC registration and do I need it to text customers?

10DLC is the carrier registration US businesses need to send texts from a regular local number through a texting platform. You register your business (the brand) and what you plan to send (the campaign), and the carriers review it. Unregistered business texts get filtered or blocked. Approval has lead time, so we start it early, and texting goes live once it clears.

Can I run my own email marketing after it's set up?

Yes, that's the point of this setup. We hand over a platform in your name, your list, a branded template and a walkthrough of building and scheduling a campaign. Plenty of owners run it themselves from there. If you'd rather not, Covered, running Chosen, $395/mo, writes and sends 2 emails a month to your past customers, and Handled, $1,450/mo, sends 4 emails and 2 texts a month.

Which email marketing platform should a small business use?

The one that fits the tools you already have. If you book or sell through Square, Square's own marketing tools keep customers in one place. A shop with an online store often fits Klaviyo. A service business with a simple list often fits Mailchimp or similar. If you already pay for one, we set that one up properly instead of moving you.

Can I import my customer list from my POS or booking app?

Usually, yes. Most POS and booking tools export customers as a spreadsheet. We remove duplicates and bad addresses, tag people by type, and only load contacts you have a reason to email, like past customers or people who signed up. Carriers expect clear consent for texting, so we keep a separate list for anyone who agreed to texts.
