  1. The printer keeps asking for a different file
  2. Our menu was made in Word
  3. Our flyers all look like different businesses

Print is still the thing customers take home

A card on a counter, a menu on the table, a sign at the property line, a flyer in a client's folder. Print is often the piece someone keeps after they meet you. When it's blurry, off-color or out of date, it quietly tells them the business is less careful than it really is.

Most print problems are file problems: a logo pulled from a website at screen resolution, no bleed, RGB colors that print muddy, text too close to the trim. We set every file up the way print shops in Olympia and Lacey expect it, so what you approve on screen is what the printer can actually run.

  1. The brief

Pay the deposit by link, then tell us what each piece is for and where it lives. Send your logo, any old versions and the exact text you want on it.

  2. First drafts in 5 business days

We pull your existing brand pieces together and lay out each piece at the size and stock you're printing on. You see first drafts within 5 business days of the brief.

  3. Your edits

You mark up the drafts; you get two rounds of edits. We check phone, address, dates and prices with you and flag anything that would print badly.

  4. Print-ready files

Final PDFs 2 business days after your last edits, built with bleed and CMYK color, named by piece and size. If your printer rejects a file, we fix it free. Printing is quoted with your files, or you send them to your own printer.

  5. What you keep

The finished files are yours, with a note of the size, stock and finish each one was built for, so a reprint is one email.

Questions owners ask.

What file does a print shop need for business cards?

Most shops want a PDF at 300 dpi, CMYK color, with an eighth of an inch of bleed on every side and text kept inside a safe margin. That's how we build every file, so a shop in Olympia or an online printer can run it as sent. If your printer has its own template, send it and we build to that.

Can you design a menu or flyer that matches my current branding?

Yes, that's the default. We work from your logo, colors, fonts and anything you've printed before, and keep the look you've built. If you don't have a consistent look yet, One Logo, One Brand is the place to start, and print pieces follow from it.

Is printing included in print design?

The design is what you're buying here. Printing is quoted with your files, or you send them to whichever printer you prefer, local or online. Paper stock, finish and quantity change the print cost a lot, so that part is settled once the design is approved.

What fits in a half day of print design?

Up to 2 pieces, like business cards and a flyer. A full day covers up to 5: a menu, a matching table card, a sign, a flyer and cards, for example. Both include two rounds of edits. Bigger runs, like a full menu system for a venue or a set of property signs, are quoted.
